Registration Opens for World Health Summit Regional Meeting 2026 in Nairobi

Registration has officially opened for the World Health Summit (WHS) Regional Meeting 2026, set to take place from 27–29 April at the United Nations Office in Nairobi (UNON), organisers confirmed. Themed “Reimagining Africa’s Health Systems: Innovation, Integration and Interdependence”, the summit will bring together leaders from government, academia, civil society, philanthropy, NGOs, and the private sector. According to officials, the event aims to strengthen Africa’s health systems while advancing global health progress. “We are committed to fostering collaboration across sectors to ensure resilient health systems in Africa,” said a WHS spokesperson. “This meeting is a chance to showcase African innovation and to build partnerships that can drive lasting change,” added Prof. Lukoye Atwoli, Dean, AKU Medical College, East Africa. Africa’s health systems face mounting pressures from climate change, infectious disease outbreaks, and limited resources. Experts say integration and interdependence are critical to tackling these challenges. Government officials emphasise the importance of policy alignment, while NGOs highlight the need for community-driven solutions. Organisers also note that youth engagement will be a central theme.
